The Shock waves brought on by Those Unseen Hands!
Introduction: The Shock waves brought on by Those Unseen Hands!
Though I can not see you, nor touch you,
Yet I know that you are softly speaking to me.
Oh, Lord, Jesus,
Oh, Lord, Jesus,
I truly know that you have always been here.
It is your hands, those nail-scarred hands,
That comforted my broken heart over and over again.
It is your voice, the tenderly-spoken words,
That once again filled the hunger within my soul.
This song, sung by a group of orphans in voices from deep within
their hearts and moved to tears by the Holy Spirit, deeply touched not
only themselves, but also everyone present. Some even sobbed openly,
with their whole bodies shaking. At a church in Vancouver, the pastor,
in closing, was so overcome with emotions that he stood on stage crying
for four and a half minutes, unable to speak any words. A pastor in a
church in Tzuo Ying, Taiwan cried out, “Lord, I have sinned!” in
closing prayer. In a school in Manila, the Philippines, over two
thousand students attended the concerts; nine-hundred and ninety-nine
made the decision to follow Jesus. Everywhere the song was sung, people
were shaken up. It’s as if it was Pentecost all over again.
This certainly is not due to the power of music
alone; it was the Holy Spirit working through the orphan’s persuasive
voices, speaking of what God’s great love has done in their lives. It
is real and moving. This is why God uses them to lead tens of thousand
people to come to the Lord, and to encourage many lukewarm Christians
to be revived in spirit.
The effect of this song is not only felt in
churches, but also in schools and communities. This song is a must-sing
in every concert. It was also sung in a public announcement in which
the President of Taiwan comforted and encouraged the people during the
2003 outbreak of SARS; this public announcement was broadcasted several
times a day on various channels to the whole country.
In a country where Christians only account for less
than four-percent of the population, this effect of turning people
towards God is almost unfathomable.
